Shoes are on my mind today
It's so beautiful here in Ohio. I began dressing for spring. Today I'm sporting a short sleeve white and green top, with some green capris (just below the knee for me), with sandals. Yeah, my feet thank me. It feels so good to have air circulating between the toes.
99% of the time I wear either sandals or tennis (athletic, basketball, walking, whatever) shoes. I have a couple pairs of loafers but hardly ever wear them. A guestimation of number of shoes is 30 of which 12 are sandals and 10 are athletic shoes. I do have one pair of super-warm, water-proof boots but they are so heavy that I'm too lazy to put the effort into walking in them.
I'm happier in spring, summer and fall with my clothes because I think that sandals look better with a wider variety of clothes. Athletic shoes only look good with jeans. So in the winter I wear jeans each and every day. It is boring. During the other three seasons I wear skirts, shorts, linen pants, capris, dresses (one praire dress or two) and yes the one pair of gauchos I own.
That made me wonder about: what do all of you wear to work in the winter? Do you wear skirts {{burr}}, pant suits, jeans? What shoes do you wear with winter clothes?
Do you own mountains of shoes but only wear three or four?
Can you wear clog-type shoes? Shoes with no back strap. Or between the toe thongs? I don't feel comfortable any more with no back strap. I've purchased two pairs of thong shoes to try this summer, but I'm not hopeful I will adjust to the irrataion between my toes. My undie thongs are way more comfortable than my thong shoes.
My toenails are a slight pearlescent pink today.

I have an insane amount of shoes. Really, before I move I will need to go through them and get rid of some.
I only have one pair of sneakers though, and when I bought them, they were the first pair I had bought since I was in the 9th grade. I had to have them for Forensics class, for when we went out to crime scenes.
I have at least 20 pairs of sandals. I love them, but I really need to get rid of the ones that are not so pretty anymore. As for other shoes, a whole bunch, ranging in color from browns to blacks, with a few other colors in there. So many different styles. Mostly lately I have been wearing different versions of mules. Dressy ones with pointy toes, rounded toed ones, buckles, no buckles.
One common theme other than with my sneakers, is that I always wear a heal. I am 5'2" or so, but my shoes make me around 5'5". I cannot hardly walk in flats anymore because I am so used to some type of heal on my shoe.
Ohhh I forgot boots. I have 6 pairs of brown or black boots. Three with pointy toes to wear with jeans, and the other ones just are different styles, different heals.
Oh...did I mention that I love shoes?
I wear jeans pretty much everyday all year long to work. I'll wear shorts on those two heat wave days a year that we have.
I have probably 100 pair of shoes, no exaggeration. All tennis shoes, thongs and boots. A couple of dressier shoes. No heels. I live in thongs during the summer and boots and tennis shoes the rest of the year.
Most of my shoes are either Skechers, Nike, Vans or air walk. Except my thongs. Most of those are Old Navy.
And it is once again raining here in SF. *sigh*
I think the 3 of you should get this shirt:

There's no business like shoe business.
I probably have the least pairs of shoes of everyone in blogland. I have maybe, maybe 20 pairs of shoes. A couple pairs of tennis shoes, a couple pairs of boots, 4 or 5 pairs of flip flops, a few dressy type shoes in brown or black and a few casual type shoes in browns. I wear boots and jeans most every day to work or capris in the summer.
Oh, Arkie, that is funny. Back in the day that might have been true.
Syren, you wear pointy toe shoes. It took my toes 4 years to straighten out from wearing those back in the day. Every time I watch "What not to Wear" and they put those shoes on every one of them I squirm and yell, "No, not the shoes". I think CSTL will have to dedicate a room for your shoes. Getting rid of shoes you love is too painful. You never know when you'll need a worn pair to kick around in.
Momma, but cowboy boots have pointy toes. I had a pair once, had to have them, spent way too much on them, and I never wore them because they didn't really fit and hurt my feet. I do love the look of cowboy boots with jeans though. Here I am assuming that your boots are cowboy.
Wow, Carey you have more shoes than I do. I wore a pair of my tennis shoes last weekend to clean up the yard and Dbf asked why I was wearing new shoes outside. I said, "These are way old".
Puffy, lol. There's no business I know. Show tunes, I love them.
I forgot to add that I had a new green bra and undies on yesterday too. I was styling. Today I'm wearing a new brown shirt. I didn't have brown so I bought it. I actually like it. Oh, with beige jeans and beige lacy boyshorts and beige bra.
I love buying new clothes.
*sits with momma* That 20ish figure even sounds a little high.
Casual work shoes, non-sandal=2 pairs
Tennis Shoes=1 decent pair
Sandals, sorta-dressy=3 pair
Sandals, uber casual=1 pair
Dress shoes, assorted styles=4 pairs
Outdoor work shoes=3 pairs
Shoes I bought & only wore once=3 pairs
Snow boots=2 pair
My work wardrobe only changes slightly with the seasons. I'm a pants girl. Heavier dress pants in winter, lighter weight in warm months. I have a variety of dress tops, a few blouses, a few suit jackets and sweaters I wear in the winter. I'm not a fashion plate, but I'm always coordinated & usually "neatly" dressed.
I have been doing the capri thing to work. It has been in the 70's all week. I'm loving it.
Happy hump day!
I'm a shoe whore. *grin*
I'm a shoe whore too! I usually wind up wearing the 3 or 4 pairs that work best for each season. I love shoes with no backs! Just slip 'em on and go!
I probably don't have as many as most of you, because I'm pretty good about getting rid of the old pair as soon as I bring in the new pair.
Right now I have a small collection of boots. All high-heels. I have maybe three pairs of tennis shoes, 6 pairs of sandals, tons of slip on loafer styles, which I wear the most. Also a good amount of dress shoes.
I've been getting more into shoes lately, but so far I'm not sold on the wedges that are out there now.
Hmmm. I don't think I have too many pairs of shoes. Let's see:
runners = 1
nice sandals = 2
flip-flops = 2 (One really ratty pair that I use to go to the beach or for gardening. The other pair isn't really good for walking very long. I want a nice pair for everyday summer wear.)
dress sandals: 2 (bought for weddings)
work shoes: 3
dress shoes: 2
I went crazy on the box of shoes I never wear a while ago and now I have far fewer than I did, it seems.
Hey where have you been lately? I tagged you on my blog. Check it out and give us your list!
